10th International Congress on Cancer Metastasis: Letter from the Chairs

This is a very exciting time to be involved in cancer research!

Following the successful 2023 9th International Congress on Cancer Metastasis through the Lymphovascular System, we will hold our next biennial Cancer Metastasis Congress as the 10th International Cancer Metastasis Congress to be held on October 29th-31st, 2025 in San Francisco at the Hotel Nikko. Our last meeting in 2023 was very successful and will be published in a Special Issue, entitled, Molecular Mechanisms of Cancer Metastasis. We have also expanded information from eight previous meetings in our textbook on Cancer Metastasis through the Lymphovascular System. A panel of distinguished experts in cancer metastasis has been chosen to serve on the organizing committee of the 2025 Cancer Metastasis Congress, bringing together many renowned international experts in oncology, immunobiology, pharmacology, molecular biology, and molecular imaging to discuss the molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis and their clinical implications as we embrace the era of precision medicine. We will follow the journey of cancer metastasis from detection at the molecular level to genomic identification to precision treatment and survival. The invited presentations will, again, form the basis of a set of chapters to be incorporated in our second edition of the textbook on Cancer Metastasis through the Lymphovascular System being published by Springer Nature. It is the goal of this biennial symposium to bring together basic scientists, oncologists, surgeons, and radiologists from around the world, resulting in a cross-fertilization of ideas that will enhance the translation of basic science into clinical application—and challenge basic scientists with clinical issues.

The Symposium is sponsored by the Sentinel Node Oncology Foundation, (https://www.snofoundation.com), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2003 to advance the care and treatment of patients with solid cancer and to help develop new preventative strategies, diagnostics, and treatments.

The Organizing Committee is building a program that follows the process of cancer metastasis from origins at the molecular level, to genomic identification, to precision treatment and survival. The theme of the Symposium is to track the mutant cell(s), the most proficient of which form clones that proliferate and spread through the sentinel lymph node as the major gateway to the lymphovascular system to distant sites resulting in metastasis and death. We must understand the complex journey of these mutant cells from a molecular level so that the process can be stopped before the mutants go awry.

In addition to plenary sessions with distinguished guest faculty, time will be allotted for integrated oral abstract presentations and poster sessions peer-selected from submitted abstracts by attendees, young investigators, and trainees.

We are confident that this 2 CME accredited activity in San Francisco will make a significant impact by updating the scientists and clinicians with the latest development in molecular mechanism of cancer metastasis and cancer therapy thus, bringing the laboratory findings of cancer metastasis from the bench to the clinicians and clinical relevance of cancer metastasis to the basic scientists.
